Data & Privacy Notice

Who is collecting this data? This survey is run by YMCA England and Wales (https://ymca.org.uk/) on behalf of the APPG on Youth Affairs. YMCA England and Wales is the data controller (as defined in the UK GDPR) for all responses submitted to this survey. 

Why is this data being collected? Your personal data may be used if we need to contact you to follow up on your responses or to quote you in the report, or for other purposes where we may lawfully do so without consent.

What is our legal basis for collecting this data? We collect and use your data based primarily on your consent. You may withdraw your consent (see “Your rights” below) at any time. Where lawful to do so we may use legitimate interest as the basis for processing of your personal data.

How will your data be used?All information you provide will be kept confidential. Data will not be used for unrelated purposes without obtaining your consent unless we may lawfully do so without consent.

Who will have access to the data? Only authorised staff of YMCA England and Wales team will have access to the data. Responses will be securely retained only by YMCA England and Wales. 

How will findings be reported? We will use your answers as part of our report. In the event that we would like to use a quote of yours, we will use your name and organisation unless you indicate that you wish to remain anonymous in the relevant survey question.

How long will your data be kept? Your responses may be retained for up to 2 years. After this, your data will be securely and irretrievably deleted or anonymised.

Do I have to share my data? Yes. This is so that we can follow up with you if we have any further questions about your responses.

Personal data: The personal data we may collect in this survey is: Name, Age, Location and Organisation. Names and organisation will only be used to follow-up on any answers you supply. We may also use your name, age, location and organisation in quotes for the report, but if you would prefer to remain anonymous, please say “Yes” to the question about anonymity.

Your rights: You have the right to: 

– Access the data you have provided 
– Ask for any errors in your data to be corrected 
– Withdraw your data from future use
